The band was rechristened "One Republic" after suggestions from Colombia records which said that the name republic may bring forth controversy with other brands.
The band had 5 members- Tedder on vocals, Filkins on guitar and backing vocals, Eddie Fisher on drums, Brent Kutzle on bass and cello, and Drew Brown on lead guitar.
Success
The band became internationally famous with its first single Apologize. The song turned out to be the biggest radio airplay hit in the history of the Top 40 radio in North America, with 10,331 plays in one week. It made a record by staying at number-one for eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Pop 100 chart.
The band was signed by Mosley Music Group in 2006. It has released two albums to date; "Dreaming Out Loud" in 2007 and "Waking Up" in 2009 .Both albums recorded massive sell across the globe.
