When looking for places to link your website or your products as part of an
internet marketing campaign, it is worth considering trade directories, particularly for your industry or target audience niches.
There are many well-known global and national directories who offer listings to every imaginable industry eg Kompass, Tradekey, Applegate, Yell, Thomson etc. Others focus on specific niches, industries, regions or markets. These directories can often be found in the first few pages of the search results for your top keywords - they generally have far bigger marketing budgets than you or I!
There are also a considerable number of directories specifically for importers and exporters. These are particularly useful, both to find new suppliers and to break into international markets.
Many of these directories offer a free, basic online listing in their searchable database.
You will need to investigate which categories your products should be listed under, and choose the most appropriate to enable your potential customers to find you easily. However, it is also worth searching on your competitors and see whether they have spotted any additional market sectors for similar products.
Some directories offer additional services, such as online quotes and lead generation, enhanced and featured listings, listings in a print directory or magazine. However attractive these may seem, it may well be worth testing the water first with a free listing before expending your hard-won marketing budget on an unknown service that may or may not yield results.
Your descriptions need to be carefully crafted, and optimised for your top keywords. Many of these directories employ experienced SEO experts in order to get good search engine rankings and attract new customers, so use that to your advantage.
There are directories who only offer paid listings and it is important that you ask all the right questions to check Value For Money (VFM) before signing any contracts. Always ask if you can have a trial, and always haggle over the price of a listing for your business. Without businesses like yours, they would not have a directory so do not assume the rate card is fixed.
Ask for audited or confirmed unique visitor numbers, page views for the site and by category, and example clickthroughs for other advertisers. Make sure the results they give you are current but also indicate whether the site activity is growing or diminishing over time eg 6 months of data or so.
Compare the value of potential visitors to your site with any Pay per Click campaign costs you have eg Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing etc.
If you decide to go for an online quotes package too, remember that you will need to regularly check your emails for enquiries and leads. You will need to respond promptly and many of these services offer purchasers the chance to rate and review suppliers.
Good ratings plus positive feedback = future sales plus loyal customers.
Keep a detailed list of all directories to which you submit your business, and regularly check and update your listing with new products, brands, amended company details, and top keywords.

Have you been thinking of investing in a domain name lately? If so, rest assured that you are in the large majority. Today's internet has become incredibly powerful as more people come to grasp the benefits. These days, almost everyone has easy access to the internet and can connect with millions of people around the world. When thinking of the endless potential, investing in a domain name only makes sense for those who want to leverage the power of the net and the reach of the World Wide Web.
In the internet world, a domain is equivalent to an address of a store. If want to visit a website, then you need to type in an address to access it. The shorter and catchier this address, the more valuable it becomes as it will be easier for people to remember. Whether you have plans of starting an informative website or an online business, these tips will help you get the most out of your domain name investment.
Think Ahead
Some domain names are more popular than others because of the current trends today. For this reason, you should think ahead and consider the future trends. Can you predict what will be en vogue in the next few years? If you plan on selling your domain name for profit, you may want to secure one that coincides with an emerging trend to encourage top dollar offers. If you plan to build your presence off the name, choose something that has longevity and will stay relevant regardless of what's hot.
Determine a Viable TLD
Even people who have never been on a website associate ".com" with the internet. It is the most popular TLD (top level domain) so securing this extension should be your first move. Because it is so highly sought after, there is a chance that your first choice for .com may not be available. Somebody could have beat you to the punch. While you could go with alternatives such as .org, .net or .info, you should keep in mind that the selling price for these extensions will most likely be incomparable to .com. However, if you plan to establish your presence with a website, these alternatives could work just fine depending on your promotional efforts.
Carefully Consider the Name
Last but not least, you need to put an emphasis on the actual domain name itself. Short and sweet usually works best as it generally results in a simple and effective choice. You may have something unique in mind, but if it is too long or complex, you run the risk of deciding on a name that no one will remember. Take it from the masters of the web: Google, Yahoo and Flickr have all branded themselves with domain names that are simple, easy to remember and powerful.
Investing in a good domain doesn't have to be a complicated process. You just need to be aware of what goes on in the internet world. After coming up with the right selection, this could turn out to be one of the best investments you ever made.

Most people have a good idea of the goals they plan to accomplish with their website or online business. They have no trouble determining the site they wish to run, and the products or services they want to sell. While determining a concept for your website is usually the easy part, what many people struggle with is choosing a suitable and available domain name to go along with it. This mainly occurs because for the most part, domain names are registered on a first come, first served basis. Combine this with the fact that many of the catchy, appealing names were already registered long ago and you could have a perplexing situation on your hands.
After going to a registrar and striking out a couple of times, several would-be registrants throw up their hands in frustration, thinking twice about their plans and whether they even want to try to establish themselves online at all. They can't believe that someone would be clever enough to come up with the same idea and the name it took them so long to think of. Once learning that so many people register domains just to turn around and sell them, they become more detached and wonder if securing a name is even possible.
Your Dream Domain Awaits
Despite the shortage and what you may hear, it is very possible to find yourself a good domain name that will be available when you go to register it. Obtaining success will just take a little more effort on your part and a bit of strategic thinking. Even though some might look down on it, there are actually quite a few entrepreneurs in the business of finding available domain names and immediately flipping them. While these registrants are motivated by money, if they can find them, why can't you? It can be done, and the following suggestions should make your search that much easier.
Think Outside the Box - When trying to come up with a domain name, rely on lateral thinking to aid in your search. Remember this: just because someone has already registered the popular, catchy domain, doesn't mean that an alternative and potentially equally good one can't be found. Try to think in ways your competitors won't and if need be, use a thesaurus for a little help.
Consider Alternate Extensions - Most people are after the popular .com extension for branding purposes and the simple fact that it tends to resonate better with internet users. However, you can also turn to alternatives such as .net, .biz or .org. If you are looking to base your domain name around a particular keyword, these options can end up being just as good.
Domain Name Idea Generator - This refers to a type of tool that allows you to enter a keyword or theme, and the system automatically searches for a suitable domain name based on that criteria. There are many of these systems online in both free and premium varieties. If you simply can't come up with something good, it wouldn't hurt to turn to a reliable software tool for a little automated assistance.

In web site design the primary and leading step is to plan a layout and then choose on the designing features. Various elements are there in a web site like sound, graphics, images, flash and so on which contribute to the look of the website and assists in building brand identity.
Graphics is generally used in

Simplicity combined with elegancy is the trick for driving target customers to your site. Sometimes when a fresh web site is launched many web designers insert all their skills and flashy designs thinking that this can make a web site look posh and would instantly drive customers. But keep web site design easy with a few selected color combinations with which customers can relate them. Focus on keeping the site loading time low so that customers don't loose attention in your website and switch on to another one.
Generally images that you use on site should be well optimized. Hiring expert services can help in this process as they have required Photoshop and other designing software experienced staff as well. Try to avoid having any background images as it gives clumsy look as well as creates downloading speed problem. Also do not keep complicated scripts on a webpage, as if you keep the visitors waiting more for website to load, chances of them switching on to another website gets strong.
Apart from flash, still images on website can also give-in good results. However its kind depends on the web site and the products/services it deals with. Having a web site is no big deal but what makes difference is how they are designed and whether they score well with the customers or not. Combine the web site designing with the marketing preparation so that it can complement it. For more details

There is no arguing that business must have a website in today's day and age. Customers expect it. If it is not there, the credibility of the company is seriously questioned.
While publishing a website is the obvious first step to the process, SEM, or
Search Engine Marketing, must accompany this step if the website is to be found by web searchers.
If a customer already knows that you exist, and happens to type your business name into a search engine, they will likely find your website. But what about customers that don't yet know about your business? Isn't it the goal of all companies to find new customers?
If a customer does not know about your business, but is searching for the products and services you offer, you want your website to be displayed in search results - and near the top of the page. This is achieved through SEM.
SEM should not be confused with SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
SEM is a general category, while SEO is a feature of SEM. Part of marketing a website is to optimize it for search engines. SEO describes your website to your customers, while SEM markets your website.
A nicely designed website, that has been optimized for search engines and has been properly marketed, is sure to be found by new customers.

If you want to make changes to your business, you should start looking for opportunities and ask questions. And if you want to transform your brochure printing to new and better print brochures, then you better start looking for opportunities to change your collaterals even at the smallest element in your marketing campaign.
One of the significant elements that can totally revamp your brochure printing from the old to the new is the fold. A post-print operation such as your fold can put a lot of new changes to your print brochures that have already gone dull and boring from too long exposure. When done right, your fold can help you achieve better results when it comes to getting the most effective marketing tool for your business.
How you unfold your print brochures in front of your target audience says a lot of how your recipients will respond to your collateral. Do not let your target readers get irritated just because they cannot get inside your pages. It will always come down to the way you applied the fold to your brochure printing. What kind of fold you integrate in your printing can go a long way in making it easy for your target audience to get to your message right away.
To revive your fold, you might want to change your regular technique. Ask your commercial printer what you can do to have a better fold for much better collateral. Ask whether the kind of fold you had before would still work for you. If not, what folding method can help you stand out? What kind of paper stock can get you a better fold for your brochure printing? What is the size and thickness of the fold? And will your target audience appreciate the kind of fold you have in your collateral?
In addition to the folding method, you should also ask your print provider for the type of scoring you'll need in order to get that perfect fold.
What is scoring? It is what you need to apply to your collateral before you do the fold. Scoring helps prevent pressure, which in turn results to cracking in your paper; it also helps you locate the place where it would be most appropriate for you to apply the fold.
The fold you apply to your collateral can also help you reinforce your effectiveness to your target audience. It is not only your design and content, but your fold can also determine your impact to your readers, whether it is positive or not.

Free stuff sites make up a very decent percentage of all sites on the internet. You can get anything from free screensavers to free software to free iPods to free vacations on the internet. Obviously other than a very few select products none of them are 'truly' free. They are not even a 'shareware kind' of product. Most of these schemes will expect a certain action to be performed to claim the 'free stuff'.
Normally, signing up to an offer from an advertiser, referring friends to a site or service or buying a related product all are examples of the 'actions' expected. For example, the free iPod offer that took over the internet by craze works on the premise that each person will refer 5 of their friends to the scheme as well as sign up to a few sponsors offers himself.
What is surprising is that out of all these offers, there are very few that are webmaster-centric. You hardly find offers for free domains, free web hosting or free traffic when you sign up for an offer. This is probably because the cost of these services or products is too low to warrant much interest. It can also be that webmasters prefer more direct forms of rewards like cash.
It is not that there are absolutely no free domain offers on the net. There are a few but their 'action' expected is either to buy hosting or to sign up and post at forums. The first scenario is a little scary because most web hosting companies will register the 'free' domain in their own name. So if want to change the web host, you lose the domain name and with it all the hard work you put in to develop the brand image. That leaves the posting at forums option. Well, if you asked me to post, say 50 messages and all of reasonable length (at least 10 - 15 words), it will take me a month. This assumes that I also have something better to do! I cannot wait that long for a domain even if it is free.
From experience, it is seen that a webmaster will never refuse a free domain name. For that matter no one will refuse a free thing if there is no catch involved. A webmaster should be willing to sign up for a free offer or two in exchange of a free domain. If such a scheme were available it should be quite successful. May be not as much as the free iPods schemes but at least 50% as effective as them. If the free offer does not involve disclosure of credit card information, it will be the icing on the cake!
This is exactly what I have been working out. You sign up for an offer. If it is a valid sign up then I buy you a domain name. No credit card information required and no obligation too. That simple. The only condition is you must be from the US and must fill up the information required (name, email, address etc) honestly. As soon as I receive confirmation of the signup (usually 2-3 days) you get your domain name. And, yes these are not pharmaceutical or gambling offers, you need to sign up to receive more information from an online education university. Can it get better than that?

Do you want to design cheap catalogs for the masses? While it may sound very simple to design catalogs for massive amounts of people, there are still a few important ideas and techniques that you should know to maximize your designs for these types of printed catalogs. You must display the best information that people need into your cheap catalogs so that they will find the catalogs useful and use them correctly. In this article, I will share with you five great ways on designing catalogs for the masses.
Being proud of the prices. One good thing about a mainstream catalog design is that you can be really proud of your prices. In broad target markets, your focus should usually go to middle class and lower class citizens, which make up the bulk of society. Most of us, usually like cheap or affordable deals when buying products and services. So for catalogs, it really is very useful to be proud of your affordable prices and display them prominently for each product. This makes it easier for people to find the most crucial information that most really want and that is the price. So if you want a good design that appeals to the masses, print your affordable prices in large and eye catching text into the catalog.
Always displaying the savings. Also, it is a great idea to display some financial facts about the savings that people get when they buy products from the catalog. This involves always displaying how much money savings you will get when you buy a certain product. Messages like "save 20$" or "10$ less than other brands" are just a few examples. These "saving" phrases are great at encouraging your mainstream consumers to buy more of your products since most of them like the idea of savings. So if you can, try to add this aspect of catalog printing to your strategy and designs.
Promoting product packages. Product packages are also great at encouraging consumers in a color catalog. Product packages are basically those bundled up pricing strategies that offer a lot of savings if people buy a certain group of things. Packages are often a source of savings for most people, while at the producers end it is a way of getting extra sales as well. That is why these kinds of promotions for product packages work well with cheap catalogs. So if at all possible it is good have this feature included in your catalog designs.
Using simple and direct descriptions. Now, on the text content itself, a good catalog for the masses must always talk in simple and direct descriptions. There is no room in cheap catalogs for flowery words. It is all about functionality and getting the crucial information to the catalog readers that need it. So make sure that everything is simple and direct so that people will not get bored easily with too much writing.
Easy catalog layouts. Finally, in terms of the layout itself, it is best to have a catalog design that has a very easy layout. People must have no trouble in reading your catalogs and every position of the images and text must follow a simple pattern. This minimizes the confusion that a lot of people might experience as they read through massive catalogs with several pictures and descriptions.
So that is how you design catalogs for the consumer masses. It must be oriented specifically for savings and simplicity.
